The composition of the first of the five African teams for the World Championship's final tournament was announced by the coach of the Ghana national team, Ratomiras Dujkovic. In the list of the 23 invited Serbs compared to the team that performed poorly in the African Nations Cup tournament, there were many changes - the Ghanaian league star Habib Mohamed, who was invited to the national team for the first time in recent years, returned to the team after a few years of withdrawal, as well as one of the four football players playing in Ghana, Shilla Alhassan Illiasu, and striker Razak Pimpong, who plays in Copenhagen. Once again, foreign goalkeeper Richard Kingston, defender Daniel Quaye and midfielder Derek Boateng returned to the team, and as expected, the invitation was received by Eric Addo, who played for "PSV" eight years ago. The team captain will be Fenerbahce defender Stephen Appiah, whose midfield duet with Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is expected to be very important for Ghana's hopes. Overall, after the tragedy at the African Nations Cup in January, half of the players in R. Dujkovic's team changed, including M. Essien, Asamoah Gyan, and Sulley Ali Muntari, who did not play due to injury in the tournament. The team will likely miss Isaac Boakye, who plays in the Bundesliga, for this important tournament due to injury once again.
