Turkish hero Merihas Demiralis could face a double penalty.

The 26-year-old defender scored both goals in the European Championship quarterfinal match against the Austrians, leading his team to the next stage.

However, M. Demiralis stumbled at a crucial moment - after a precise strike, he displayed a banned "Wolf salute" gesture, attracting the attention of both UEFA and German law enforcement agencies.

This gesture is related to the Turkish "Grey Wolves" organization, recognized as extremist in Germany, France, and Austria.

It means that M. Demiralis could face a fine of up to 4,000 euros. In addition, he is planning to explain himself to UEFA later.
