The football federations of European countries enthusiastically support the idea of organizing the continent championship in 2020 not in one or two, but in 12 countries. According to the General Secretary of the German Football Association (DFB) Helmut Sandrock, the idea of UEFA President Michel Platini, which will be decided in the UEFA Executive Committee, is worth attention. "At first, when we heard this proposal, we were very surprised," Sandrock said. "But the further we go, the more federations support this step." Turkey has expressed a desire to host the 2020 championship, but their option will be rejected if Istanbul wins the right to host the Olympic Games at the same time. Scotland, Wales, and Ireland are also interested in hosting Euro 2020.
