Even the most impressive series sometimes come to an end.
Italy's national team experienced this yesterday, as they lost 0-3 to Spain in a World Cup qualifier match as guests.
This stunning failure shattered the long-standing myth of Italian invincibility.
The last time the "Azzurri" lost in a World or European Cup qualifier was in 2006, when they were defeated by France with a score of 1-3. Since then, they had at least secured a draw in 56 consecutive matches.
This failure was only remembered yesterday by Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Barzagli, who also participated in the long-lost match.
