On a late Tuesday evening, in the stadiums of Spain, the second round matches of the country's cup tournament ("Copa del Rey") were played.
Due to a questionable decision by the referee to award a penalty kick in the last minutes of extra time, Santander's "Racing" footballers lost their ticket to the next stage, beating "Cordoba" 3-1 in front of their own fans.
This difference was not enough for the hosts, as two weeks ago Miguel Angel's charges from Portugal lost away with a dry result of 2-0.
Also making it to the quarterfinals is Barcelona's "Espanyol" team, defeating "Valladolid" with a combined score of 3-1 in two matches.
