On Sunday, two matches of the XXXVI round were played in the English Premier League.

An extraordinary duel took place at Anfield stadium. It was a showdown between Liverpool and Chelsea from London. Jose Mourinho's pupils defeated the "Reds" 2-0 and brought back the intrigue in the title race.

The first half started with the dominance of the home team. Liverpool players controlled the ball for a long time near the "Blues" goal, but they couldn't break through the defense.

At the end of the half, Chelsea took advantage of their opponents' mistake. Captain Steven Gerrard made a rough mistake in the middle of the field, and Demba Ba took advantage of that to score a goal past Simon Mignolet.

Throughout the next 45 minutes, Brendan Rodgers' players continued to press the opponents from the capital. Joe Allen created a great opportunity in the 59th minute, but his long-range shot was saved by Mark Schwarzer.

At the end of the match, Luis Suarez had a chance to equalize. The Uruguayan striker took a strong shot from the penalty area, but once again, Schwarzer saved Chelsea.

In the final minute of added time, Willian sealed the final score. The "Reds" failed to return to defense in time, leaving Fernando Torres behind, who made a successful pass to Willian.

Manchester City took advantage of the slip-up of their main title rivals, matching up against Tony Pulis's Crystal Palace team away from home.

The "Citizens" broke ahead in the 4th minute with a goal from striker Edin Dzeko.

In the first half, Yaya Toure solidified their lead by making a great run through the entire defense of the London club.

After Sunday's matches, Liverpool remains in first place in the Premier League, but Chelsea is only two points behind them, and Manchester City is three points behind but with a game in hand.
