The Italian national team plans to hold a farewell match with G. Buffon

Leaders of the Italian Football Federation have decided to bid a ceremonial farewell to the long-time national team player Gianluigi Buffon.

The veteran, who has worn his country's team jersey 175 times, together with his team mates failed to overcome the representatives of Sweden and did not qualify for the World Cup in Russia.

Although initially it was said that these would be Buffon's last matches in the Italian national team, now it has been decided that one of the greatest footballers of all time deserves special respect.

In June, in Turin or Parma, the Italians will compete against a strong team and thus bid farewell to Buffon into a well-deserved retirement.

It is reported that negotiations are currently taking place with the federations of Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, and Ireland.
