On Saturday, the first champions of this season's "Samsung Galaxy Watch" Elite Youth League were revealed. With four rounds left until the end of the U18 division, the Klaipėda Football School team secured the title.
Throughout the 2022-2023 season, the successful Klaipėda team allowed their fans to witness their triumph up close. Around 100 spectators gathered at the Klaipėda FM stadium, while a larger audience watched the live broadcast on the futbolas.tv platform.
The home team quickly earned a corner kick in the first minute, and Nikita Bondarev redirected the ball into the net of the FA "Panevėžys"-PRSSG team.
The Panevėžys players aiming to enter the top three did not challenge the authority of the division leaders. Mantas Malatokas scored with a precise long-range shot in the 16th minute, and in the 59th minute, the same player managed to score an impressive goal again.
Klaipėda FM played a successful period in the middle of the second half. Emilijus Jermolajevas equalized the score in the 68th minute, and two minutes later, the Klaipėda team found their way to the opponents' goal again, with E. Jermolajevas making the decisive shot - 3:2.
After referee Kevin Drungilas announced the end of the match, Klaipėda FM players celebrated the triumph with their enthusiastic fans. It is worth noting that this is the first championship title earned by the Klaipėda Football School in the history of the "Samsung Galaxy Watch" Elite Youth League.
