Postponed UEFA Cup matches ended on Sunday, concluding the round of sixteen and the last participant of the quarterfinals was revealed - Vienna's "Austria" club, who defeated Bilbao "Athletic".
Due to very poor weather conditions, the first match between the teams was postponed to a later date, and since the second leg was already taking place, the second "Austria" and "Athletic" match was rescheduled for Sunday.
Since no goals were scored in the first match in Austria, the winner had to be determined at the "San Mames" stadium in the city of Bilbao. The hosts led after 20 minutes from a penalty scored by Francisco Yeste, but Libor Sionko's goals in the 35th and 70th minutes secured a somewhat unexpected victory for the visitors.
In the quarterfinals, the "Austria" club will face another opponent from Spain - this time the Austrians will have to play against "Real Zaragoza". The first leg matches will be played on March 10th, while the second leg will take place on March 16-17. The quarterfinal draw will be held on March 18th, and the final of the cup will be held on May 18th in Lisbon.
