"The League": 2 teams compete for the champion title © EuroFootball.com

The two matches on Saturday in the Spanish "La Liga" once again confirmed that two teams will fight for the gold medals in the league - the leading "Barcelona" and the second-placed "Real", as the defending champions "Valencia" suffered another setback and are now 16 points behind the leader.

Even the slightest hopes of the "Valencia" team to maintain the title of Spanish champions practically ended after a loss at home to "Deportivo" - L.Scaloni put the visitors ahead before halftime, and although M.Di Vaio equalized the score at the beginning of the second half, the La Coruna team won thanks to Victor's goal in the 73rd minute.

At least temporarily, "Barcelona" restored their seven-point lead over "Real" after an 8-year hiatus by defeating "Zaragoza" away. The Catalan team controlled the match and already had a three-goal advantage at the end of the first half, and later, despite conceding one goal, they restored this overwhelming lead.

The goals for "Barcelona" were scored by D.Toledo (own goal), L.Giuly, S.Eto'o, and R.Marquezas, while L.Galletti stood out for "Zaragoza".

In Sunday's match, "Real" will try to reduce the gap from their rival in the game against "Osasuna", while "Sevilla" and "Villarreal" will compete for the third place.
