Legendary Madrid's "Real" and Spain's national team forward Raul has announced that he will soon end his professional career.
The 38-year-old sniper plans to hang up his boots in the month of November, after the last North American League match against the New York "Cosmos" team.
Raul, who made his debut for the "Real" team in 1994, spent 16 seasons in the club and won numerous titles, including six Spanish champion titles and three UEFA Champions League titles.
He became his team's record holder for goals scored (323). However, this record was recently surpassed by current "Real" leader Cristiano Ronaldo.
Another record was set in the Spanish national team meters (44 goals), but it was surpassed in 2011 by David Villa.
After leaving his country's capital, Raul represented the clubs "Schalke" from Gelsenkirchen and "Al Sadd" from Qatar, before moving to the "Cosmos" team in 2014.
My decision is to end playing after the NASL season, which I hope to finish successfully with the current team. In the coming months, I will decide what activities I would like to pursue in the future," said the legend.
"Leaving is not easy, but I believe that now is the right time."
