On Friday evening in the 10th round of the English Premier League, not only rain, but also goals poured down.
In a rainy Southampton, the home team hosted Leicester City. The incredible attacking potential shown by the "Foxes" resulted in a 9-0 victory "bombarding" the crumbling Southampton after a red card.
In the 10th minute, Leicester gained advantage after a precise strike from Ben Chilwell. Southampton found themselves in an even bigger trouble two minutes later - defender Ryan Bertrand was sent off for a red card offense.
As it turned out shortly afterwards, this episode became decisive in the match - Leicester scored four more goals during the remaining first half and repeated Manchester City's team record of scoring five goals in the first half of a Premier League match.
In the 17th minute, Youri Tielemans scored a goal, and later the Leicester City attacking duo duo began - Ayoze Perez scored two accurate shots, and Jamie Vardy added another goal at the end of the half.
In the second half, Leicester did not ease off and "crushed" three more goals into the opponent's net - the same A. Perez and J. Vardy scored again. In the 85th minute, James Maddison scored a penalty, and in added time, J. Vardy concluded the opponent's suffering with an accurate shot from the penalty spot.
Both J. Vardy and A. Perez ended the match with "hat-tricks".
Leicester, having achieved the biggest victory in the club's history, temporarily moved up to second place. Southampton dropped to 18th place.
