„La Liga“ leaders have finalized the terms of a very lucrative deal. According to COPE, the strongest Spanish league has sold the rights to its name to the American company „EA Sports“ starting from the 2023/2024 season. The video game producer will pay the Spaniards 40 million euros per season, and the contract will be signed for five years. „EA Sports“ will be able to choose the name for the second most powerful league in Spain at its discretion. This agreement will allow „La Liga“ to earn twice as much money as the current contract with „Banco Santander“ guarantees.
