The Lithuanian national football team plans to finish the year 2010 in Hungary in November - the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) has agreed on friendly matches with the Hungarian team.

This year, Lithuanian footballers will no longer have to play UEFA EURO 2012 qualification matches, with the next ones scheduled for March of the following year, so the leaders and coaches of the national team decided to test the team's substitutes.

"In the three qualification matches we played with the same lineup, players already have yellow cards. It is likely that after the matches in March, in November against Spain, there may be disqualifications. Therefore, it is important to check those players who play less, or who have not played in the national team at all. This will be a great opportunity for them to show themselves," said Robertas Tautkus, head of the LFF national teams department.

Lithuania was also invited to play by other teams, but the best offer was made by representatives of the Hungarian Football Federation.

"The conditions in Hungary should be favorable at that time. We surpass our opponents in the FIFA rankings, but the Hungarians have successfully started the European Championship qualification, are second in their group and will certainly be strong opponents," said R. Tautkus.

The match is scheduled for November 17 at the "Sostoi" stadium in Szekesfehervar, starting at 18:00 local time.

The next friendly matches for the Lithuanian national team are planned for early 2011, and on March 29, Lithuanians will host the European and World champions, Spain, in the qualification matches at home.
