The Lithuanian youth (up to 21 years old) national team is preparing to test their strength against their peers from Latvia in the Latvian capital Riga at the beginning of February. This was reported on the official LFF website.

The Lithuanians, coached by Saulius Širmelis, will play with the Latvians on February 6 at 15:30 and on February 8 at 13:00. The matches will take place at the Riga Olympic Sports Center.

The last time the Lithuanian youth national team played was against the Latvian team - the away team won one of the matches held in Kaunas, while the other match ended in a draw.

Comparing to the team that played back then, coach S. Širmelis made few changes in the lineup - only the "Atlantas" defender Donatas Surblys, the "Šilutė" defender Audrius Juozaitis, and also the striker Jevgenijus Dovkša from "Žalgiris" were added to the team due to the shortage of attackers.
