The Lithuanian youth (U-21) national team played a friendly match against their counterparts from Belarus today. Last year Lithuanians lost with a score of 0 - 1. Today's match ended with the same result.

U-21 Belarus - U-21 Lithuania 1 - 0 Goal: 47' Rubnenko Red cards: 82' Mižigurskis, 87' Žaliūkas

The first five minutes were better played by the hosts, but they did not create anything dangerous. Soon Lithuanians got rid of the initial excitement and started attacking the opponents' goal themselves. Mikoliūnas was particularly active, not giving the Belarusian goalkeeper peace with his shots from afar. In the 42nd minute, Belarusian Klimenko had a great opportunity, but after his shot the ball went wide of the goal. In the last minute of the first half, Šernas passed three defenders but shot inaccurately.

The second half started very unsuccessfully. Already in the second minute Lithuania conceded a goal: Majus stumbled and lost the ball, two Belarusians jumped past the goalkeeper and played accurately. The "Screen" defender in this episode got injured and was substituted. After the goal, Lithuanians were completely shaken, and Belarusian players began to completely dominate the field, creating dangerous attacks one after another. Several times goalkeeper Malinauskas saved, later Mikuckis cleared the ball off the line. In the 82nd minute, Mižigurskis was knocked down by Glušakovas, but the referee's whistle remained silent. The Lithuanian could not handle the tension and pushed his opponent earning a red card. Five minutes later the hopes of the visitors to equalize were completely shattered: Žaliūkas was sent off the field, and the Lithuanian youth played the rest of the time with nine players.
