Triumphant victory against the Lithuanian national team did not save the Serbian national team coach Mladen Krstajic from dismissal.
The Serbian Football Federation announced on Thursday that the 45-year-old strategist will no longer be working with the national team. Just on Monday, the Serbians under his guidance defeated the Lithuanian team with a score of 4:1.
This victory did not change the opinion of the Serbian football leaders, as prior to that, the national team suffered a humiliating defeat to Ukraine - losing with a score of 0:5.
After three matches, the Serbians are in third place in the European Championship qualifiers - having played a draw, achieved one victory, and suffered a loss.
Despite the fact that the Serbians' situation is not yet critical, M. Krstajic's future has always been uncertain, as he had faced criticism from the country's media - both regarding player selection and tactical decisions.
Serbia promises to introduce a new national team coach on July 10.
