71-year-old Oscar Tabarez is ready for his third World Cup - the Uruguayan Football Federation has signed a contract with the strategist for another four years.
O. Tabarez has been leading the national team in this World Cup despite not being in the best health, but the strategist still feels unfinished work in the team, where he began his coaching job in 2006.
The football specialist took over as the coach of the Uruguayan national team immediately when the team failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. Since then, the national team has participated in World Cups and four "Copa America" championships.
Born in 1947, O. Tabarez has previously managed teams such as "Boca Juniors," "Milan," and "Real Oviedo." He also managed the Uruguayan national team during the period from 1988 to 1990.
Overall, O. Tabarez has led his national team in 198 matches and achieved nearly half of victories - 99.
In 2011, he managed to win the only trophy so far - the "Copa America" championship.
