The mayor of Marijampolė, Povilas Isoda, responded to the spread of rumors about possible changes in the "Sūduva" team.

Blogger Skirmantas Malinauskas reported that the A League team will soon change owners and pass into the hands of the controversial businessman Žydrūnas Buzas.

"Categorically deny that the sale of FC 'Sūduva' or negotiations for the sale are taking place with the approval of the politicians of Marijampolė municipality.

I do not support and will not support the sale of our legendary city's football club to the mentioned person.

As long as I am the mayor, the support of the Marijampolė municipality will not reach this football club if the information mentioned is confirmed," - the mayor wrote on social media.
