The most famous players who could become free agents after the season

The 2018-19 season has just begun, but the most famous European clubs need to seriously consider their next steps in team compositions.

Goal.com has compiled a list of 20 famous players who may become free agents after the season. All footballers' contracts expire in 2019, so other clubs are already carefully observing the situation of these players in their current teams.

The biggest challenge lies ahead for the "Manchester United" team - as many as nine players have contracts until the end of next season. While there is practically no doubt about David De Gea and Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia, and Andreas Pereira may not feel secure about their future.

The London "Tottenham" team should also consider their next moves - the Belgian defensive duo Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have contracts until 2019.
