In Belgium, an incredible goal was scored, which is already being called a real contender for the title of the strangest goal of the season.
In the fourth most powerful league in the country, "KVK Avelgem B" player Jens Verhellen struck the ball from about 32 meters and turned away to run into defense.
However, the ball flew past the goalkeeper and soon hit the back of the net.
"We converted a corner kick and the opponents tried to organize a counterattack.
We didn't play organized, and since I'm a defender, I kicked the ball as far as I could to allow us to get into our positions. Suddenly everyone started cheering and I didn't realize immediately that I had scored a goal.
"The last time I had done that was four years ago," J. Verhellen said after the match.
Inspired by the goal, the "KVK Avelgem B" footballers successfully played the game and defeated the opponents with a score of 3:0.
