The myth of Leverkusen's invincibility was shattered. On Wednesday, the UEFA Europa League final took place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, where Atalanta from Bergamo crushed the previously undefeated German team - 3:0.

From the very beginning, the Italian team showed a high pace and broke the deadlock in the 12th minute. Ezequiel Palacios passed Ademola Lookman, who scored past Matej Kovar from up close.

Ademola Lookman showed a great performance on the 26th minute.

Xabi Alonso made an interesting decision before the match to start without a designated center forward. He tried to correct this mistake during halftime by sending Victor Boniface onto the field. However, it did not help.

In the 75th minute, A. Lookman completed his hat-trick, sealing the victory in this final.

Thus, Atalanta celebrated their first major trophy since 1963. In that year, they won the Italian Cup. Overall, this is their second major trophy - the first in European tournaments.

Bayer's unbeaten streak came to an end in the last match of the season. However, they still have the German Cup final on Saturday, where they can finish a fantastic season on a high note.
