31-year-old defender Marek Hamsik was preparing to bid farewell to Napoli this week, but the situation has turned upside down - the Italian club cannot find a compromise with the Chinese.
Napoli released an official statement, informing that M. Hamsik's departure is postponed, as the clubs failed to agree on the transfer destination.
According to the Italian media, Napoli wants to receive 18 million euros for their team captain, but the Chinese club "Dalian Yifang" wants to loan the defender until the end of the season and then buy out his contract.
The player transfer window in China is open until February 28, so the situation could still change dramatically, but it is not ruled out that the Slovak may ultimately stay with Napoli until the end of the season.
M. Hamsik played 19 matches this season and scored one goal.
