Valencia, competing in the Spanish "La Liga" championship, officially confirmed that Ernesto Valverde has become the new coach of the team.
The 48-year-old coach previously trained Greece's Olympiacos. The "Bats" had to look for a new club strategist after Argentine Mauricio Pellegrino was dismissed from the position.
An official statement from the club reads: "Valencia has reached an agreement with Ernesto Valverde, who will lead the team until the end of the season."
E. Valverde's debut at the helm of the Valencia team will be this coming Wednesday, when the Spanish team will face off against Lille in the UEFA Champions League.
