Officially announced that from now on, Stefano Pioli will take over as head coach at the club.

40-year-old S.Pioli took over the reins of the club from Mario Berretta, who moved to "Siena" in May. "Parma" decided to invite this coach after he and his former club "Modena" reached the playoffs for promotion to a higher league, but they were eliminated.

So far, S.Pioli has never coached in the "Serie A" league. For the past 3 years, he has been with the "Salernitana" and "Modena" teams in "Serie B," leading them to the promotion playoffs for "Serie A."

Since 1990, "Parma" has been one of Italy's strongest clubs, finishing second in the "Serie A" league twice. In 1995 and 1999, they won the UEFA Cup. However, in December 2003, after the collapse of the team's main sponsor "Parmalat," the team's results worsened.

Last season, "Parma" finished in tenth place in the league.
