Only a day after Mathias Sammer and Borussia Dortmund parted ways, the young coach already found a new job - he was appointed as head coach.
The former captain of the German national team, who became the youngest coach to win the Bundesliga title two years ago, signed a three-year contract with Stuttgart. In this club, he will replace Felix Magath, who recently took over as coach in Munich.
"When it became clear that I would leave Dortmund, I knew that if I had to coach in another club, it would be a club that I know. I know Stuttgart and I look forward to an interesting job here. Everything has been moving very fast lately. I will try to continue Magath's work in Stuttgart. At first glance, this is a young, hungry team with old leaders," said Sammer.
As a player, he played 62 matches for Stuttgart from 1990 to 1992, scored 20 goals, and helped the club win the German championship.
