The threat of coronavirus caused a disrupted start to the "Ligue 1" season. The opening match of the top French league football season was supposed to be between "Marseille" and "Saint-Ettiene", but it will be postponed to a later date. This happened because of a possible outbreak of coronavirus at the Marseille club - the team reported that they suspect at least three cases of the disease among their players. The "Ligue 1" club match was supposed to take place next Friday.
