Various reports from the Italian press announce that "Parma" president Giampietro Manenti has been arrested on charges of money laundering.
The club at the bottom of Serie A this season is constantly plagued by financial difficulties and has already had points deducted twice due to unpaid wages to players and staff.
The news agency ANSA reports that Manenti, who bought "Parma" for just 1 euro in February, is one of 22 individuals who were arrested during a raid on more than 60 homes across Italy.
This was confirmed by the country's law enforcement agency Guardia di Finanza. According to their statement, the individuals were arrested for "robbery, conspiracy, computer fraud using cloned credit cards, and money laundering in mafia style."
Despite having received several offers, Manenti stated on Tuesday that "Parma" will not be sold.
