The head coach of the Mexican national football team, 56-year-old Juan Carlos Osorio, has lost his position, as announced by the Mexican Football Federation press office.
After mutual negotiations, the leaders of the federation of this country and the football specialist from Colombia decided to not renew the coach's contract.
J.C. Osorio has been in charge of the Mexican team since 2015. During those three years, the Mexicans played 52 matches under his guidance, winning 33 times, drawing 9, and suffering 10 losses.
In the recently concluded 2018 World Cup in Russia, the Mexican national team reached the round of 16, where they lost 0-2 to Brazil.
In the group stage matches, Mexico defeated Germany 1-0, South Korea 2-1, and lost 0-3 to Sweden. Mexico finished second in their group and faced Brazil, the best team from group E, in the knockout stage.
