“Kauno Žalgiris” after a small break returned to the 3rd place in the “Optibet A League” standings. The team coached by Roko Garastas scored a goal in the first half and won the 30th round match at home with a score of 2:0 (1:0) against the bottom team Kėdainių “Nevėžis”. In the first half, both teams did not create many chances to score, although the initiative clearly belonged to “Kauno Žalgiris”. The hosts organized a great attack in the 28th minute - after a pass from Michael Thuique, Emmanuel David scored a precise shot. The latter player scored a goal in the second consecutive match, and M. Thuique is already leading the entire “Optibet A League” with 10 assists. “Nevėžis” responded before the break only with a more dangerous attack by Julius Kasparavičius - the forward shot straight at Deividas Mikelionis. At the beginning of the second half, Vakaris Skibiniauskas threatened “Kauno Žalgiris” with a header shot, and later on “Nevėžis” was firmly established on the opponent's side of the field, but lacked quality in the final attacking stages. In the 73rd minute, the hosts doubled their advantage: in the penalty area, the ball kindly bounced to Divine Naah, who confidently shot into the near corner of the goal, beating Robertas Granauskas. In the remaining time, both teams had good opportunities to score, but they did not succeed. “Kauno Žalgiris” climbed to the 3rd place with 51 points, while “Nevėžis” with 9 points remains in the 10th position.
