The point in Neymar's case: Brazilians demanding money from "Barcos" left with nothing

The so-called "Neymar 2" case will be archived by the court, while the Brazilian company "DIS" that demanded money from the Catalan club has ended up with nothing.

The National Court judge Jose de la Mata decided to dismiss "DIS" lawsuit, in which the company claimed 40 percent of the total amount from Neymar's transfer fee from "Barcelona" team.

"DIS", which previously owned part of Neymar's image rights, only received 6.8 million euros, i.e., 40 percent of the 17.1 million euros that "Barcelona" paid to "Santos" team for the player. Another 40 million euros were paid by Barcelona to Neymar's father's company "N&N".

According to the judge, the criminal case against "Barça" is being dropped because "there is no criminal offense". If "DIS" continues to pursue legal action, this company could only file a lawsuit in civil administrative procedure.

Earlier, "Barcelona" president Josep Maria Bartomeu also announced that the Catalan club has decided not to get involved in legal disputes with Spanish tax authorities and prosecutors in the so-called "Neymar 1" case.

"Barcelona" agreed to pay a 5.5 million euro fine for incorrectly calculated taxes when purchasing the player. The errors were made by the Catalan club in 2011 and 2013, but in 2014 everything was done correctly. The 40 million euro payment to Neymar's father's company, as indicated by the Spanish tax inspection, must be treated as income, so "Barça" will have to review and amend its tax declarations.
