The police have called off the search for the mysteriously missing E. Sala who flew to Cardiff.

It seems that the police and other rescue services have lost any hope of finding the missing Emiliano Sala along with the airplane pilot.

The 28-year-old footballer was supposed to fly to Cardiff on Monday night and start training with his new team mates on Tuesday morning, but since the communication with the airplane pilot was lost near the Channel Islands, there was no news about the player.

In the past few days, intensive searches were carried out in the areas where the plane could have crashed, but the searches were unsuccessful until now.

On Thursday evening, Guernsey airport captain David Barker finally announced that the searches were being called off, as the chances of both men surviving were extremely low.

"We have reviewed all the information available to us, and we knew that there was a life raft on the plane, but we had to make this difficult decision to cease the searches," said D. Barker.

"The chances of them surviving are extremely low. This information was passed on to the pilot and passengers' families. Our thoughts are with the relatives of the missing at this difficult time," the captain added.

E. Sala arrived in Europe from Argentina in 2012. He played for "Bordeaux", but was loaned to other French teams until 2015. He has been playing for the "Nantes" team for the past 3.5 years.
