From next season, English Premier League clubs will have to adapt to a new rule.
The league announced that starting from the 2019-20 season, teams' positions in the table will be based on head-to-head results.
Until now, teams with equal points would be ranked higher based on goal difference. For example, if two teams had the same points, their goal difference would be compared, and if that was also equal, then the team that scored more goals would be ranked higher.
This rule change will only affect those teams competing for the title, European places, and relegation in the league.
