Despite numerous opportunities, Wigan had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against West Bromwich.
A victory would have allowed the club, currently occupying the last place, to move up from the bottom of the league table, but James McArthur's goal was answered by Paulo Scharner's goal for West Bromwich.
