The Italian news agency "ANSA" reports that Guido Rossi has resigned from his position as the head of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and has become the president of "Telecom Italia." Together with him, the entire staff, including former Italian national team player Demetrio Albertini, and vice president Vito Gamberale, have also resigned. "ANSA" quotes G. Rossi's words: "The president of the football federation and his assistants, together and individually, stated that under the current circumstances they can no longer continue their work – to restore the 'health' (ed. note - of Italian football)." G. Rossi became the head of the federation in May, when Franco Carraro resigned from this position due to a scandal that had affected Italian football. As a market resources regulator by profession, he was supposed to undertake reforms and fix Italian football. However, when he decided to become the president of "Telecom Italia," questions arose about a conflict of interest, and after Rossi's resignation, his successor will have the task of carrying out these duties. "ANSA" reports that G. Rossi offered to stay until the end of October and complete the reforms, but this proposal was not accepted by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), which appointed him to this position. "I am grateful to the professor for all his efforts and work. Now the most important thing is to rewrite the statutes, finish this process, and not go back," said Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Giovanna Melandri. On Wednesday, the Italian Olympic Committee will nominate candidates for the position of head of the federation.
