FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke announced the amount that will be distributed during the World Cup in Brazil.

Next year's prize fund for the World Cup will reach 576 million dollars. This is a 37% larger amount than was allocated in the championship held in the Republic of South Africa, where 420 million dollars were distributed.

The champions of the championship will receive a sum of 35 million dollars, the runners-up will get 25 million, the third place winners - 22 million. The team in the fourth position will receive 20 million dollars.

Teams eliminated from the competition after the group stage will receive 8 million dollars. Teams finishing after the quarterfinals will receive 9 million, and after the semifinals - 16 million dollars.

"Additionally, 70 million will be distributed to clubs whose players participate in the World Cup. Another 20 million is allocated to Brazilian football. We will begin to pay out this money very soon and will not wait for the World Cup, and the amount could increase to 100 million," said J. Valcke.

The FIFA General Secretary confirmed that the money allocated to Brazilian football will be used for organizing volunteer matches, as well as educational and health-related projects related to football.
