The puzzle for Bayern fans: why didn't J. Guardiola trust T. Muller?

"Bayern" players from Munich left the "Vicente Calderon" stadium with their heads down. Josep Guardiola's coached team started the Champions League semi-final stage with a 0:1 loss to Madrid's "Atletico" team and will have to significantly improve at home to finally reach the tournament final. After the match, the German media began to speculate why the specialist from Catalonia did not trust one of the club's leaders, Thomas Muller, who was left on the bench and only entered the field in the 70th minute of the match. Guardiola's criticism was also met by "Bayern" legend Ottmar Hitzfeld: "Muller is the same for Munich's team as Lionel Messi for Barcelona. It is simply impossible to replace him during important matches". The striker himself did not hide his disappointment but tried to wrap his words in cotton wool: "I try to look at it from a professional point of view. Of course, I am not happy, but we need to understand what is more important for the team. If everyone sitting on the bench starts to lose patience, then we can forget about success for the season".
