On Sunday, in the central English "Premier" league's 11th round match, a recovering "Liverpool" club defeated the league leaders London "Chelsea" in front of their own fans with a score of 2-0.

This was the fourth consecutive victory for the 'Reds' in all competitions, allowing the team to rise to 9th place in the league table.

The first goal was scored after 11 minutes, when after a brilliant pass from Dirk Kuyt, Fernando Torres skillfully stopped the ball and sent it into Petr Cech's net.

This goal was meant to silence the critics of the Spaniard - up until then, he had only managed to score twice in 10 matches.

In the meantime, "Chelsea" struggled and at the end of the half, "Liverpool" took advantage once again - after receiving a pass from Raul Meireles, Torres shot from the right side into the penalty area and doubled the lead with an impressive curling shot.

After the break, the London team took initiative and spent more time in the hosts' half, but they found it difficult to create chances for themselves.

However, Florent Malouda came close to scoring, but his close-range shot was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Pepe Reina. On the other side of the field, Cech blocked Kuyt's shot, and Nicolas Anelka hit the crossbar. "Liverpool" held on and celebrated a very important victory.
