During the past season, one of the underdogs of the Lithuanian football A league, the club "Šilutė", continues preparations for the new season, but assesses the possibilities realistically and does not harbor great ambitions.
"At the moment, we are preparing for the new season at home, in Šilutė," - said the club's manager Romualdas Taršauskas to "Eurofootball.com."
"A bit later, a week before the Juzė tournament, we plan to hold a training camp in Palanga."
According to R. Taršauskas, the people of Šilutė will not follow the example of other teams and do not plan to travel to warmer lands: "We do not have plans to go abroad for training camps."
The team's leaders hope to maintain the core of the team and could not name any specific new players or departing players.
"For now, it's not clear about new faces, but we think that the composition will remain similar. One or two players may change."
It is already clear that in Šilutė, the goalkeeper belonging to "FBK Kaunas" will definitely not play in the next season. The 24-year-old player has signed a contract with the "LKS" club in Lodz, Poland.
"We are also considering the possibility of inviting foreign players, but there are no specifics yet. We hope to more or less form the team before the "Juzė" tournament in Palanga."
According to R. Taršauskas, "Šilutė" will aim to remain among the strongest in the next season: "We will not set high goals, the most important thing is to stay in the highest league."
