The World Cup qualifying match between the national teams of Australia and Saudi Arabia started with a scandal. Before the match, it was announced that a minute of silence would be held to honor the people killed in the London terrorist attack, including two Australians. While the home team stood near the center of the field, the Saudis completely ignored the moment of remembrance and walked around. To make matters worse, the Saudi Arabian coaches and reserve players did not even get up from their seats, showing their attitude towards the people killed by terrorists. The Australian national team won the match 3:2 and now leads the group (with 16 points) along with their former opponents and the Japanese national team.
