The second round played at the Lithuanian veterans (50+) championship

Past Saturday in Šiauliai and Marijampolė another round of the Lithuanian veterans' (50+) small football championship took place, where teams played two more matches.

In the part of the round played in Marijampolė, Alytus "Dainava" footballers performed the best - they won both matches.

In the first match, Alytus won 3:1 against "Lampėdžiai" footballers, and later added another convincing victory by beating Visaginas "Inter veterans" 4:1.

In Marijampolė, Vilnius Seniors' team earned four points - they first played a draw with the hosts "Marijampolė City", and then surpassed the aforementioned "Lampėdžiai" who finished the round empty-handed.

Meanwhile, looking at the matches played in Šiauliai, the hosts had the best performance - the Šiauliai VFK veterans defeated both Jonava FVK "Klevo" and Kaunas "73 stars" teams. Moreover, during those two matches, the people of Šiauliai did not concede a single goal.

Interestingly, in Šiauliai no draws were recorded in any match - if the people of Šiauliai won both matches, then "73 stars" lost both times, while the other four teams experienced both the taste of victory and the bitterness of defeat.

One such team - Kaunas "Feniksas" - maintained the leader position after the round. In four matches, "Feniksas" has achieved three victories and is ranked first with 9 points. Below them are Jonava FVK "Klevo" veterans only due to a worse goal difference.

Meanwhile, Alytus and Šiauliai teams improved their positions significantly and dropped into the top five after a successful weekend, now having 7 points each.
