The Serbian footballer who did not comply with quarantine ended up behind bars

Violation of quarantine rules in Serbia has backfired for a famous footballer. Aleksandar Prijović and his friends ended up in a Belgrade tavern instead of staying at home, as reported by lrytas.lt portal.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a ban on being in public places without a valid reason has been in effect in Serbia from 5 pm.

However, A. Prijović, together with his wife and a group of 15-20 people, enjoyed their time in a café at one of Belgrade's hotels. According to the Serbian portal "Telegraf", they were detained and placed in custody.

The violators had to write explanations at the police station. They could face even imprisonment for violating the requirements of a state of emergency.

The 29-year-old A. Prijović played this season for the Saudi Arabian club "Al-Ittihad" in Jeddah, but returned to his homeland after the championship was suspended.

The striker played in 13 matches for the Serbian national team and scored 2 goals. One of them was scored by him on November 20, 2018 in Belgrade against the Lithuanian national team during the UEFA Nations League match (result was 4:1).
