"Sportimos" arena in Vilnius hosted the seventh Lithuanian Journalists' Football Championship on Saturday, which was won by the team "Pressas" from the Lithuanian Journalists' Union Sports Club. The champions defeated all eight opponents and only conceded one goal. The second place went to the Futbolo TV team, while the third place was taken by last year's finalists, "Freelancer." The defending champions, the Kaunas journalists, finished in eighth place. The best player of the tournament was recognized as Aurimas Tamulionis from "Pressas." He also became the top scorer, netting 6 goals. He and other award winners were presented with prizes by Igoris Pankratjevas, the head coach of the Lithuanian national football team. The best players received awards from "TiuMenas," "hummel," and "Vytautas." In the universal arena at "Sportima," the main tournament sponsor, the betting company "Orakulas," established a cup, which was contested by teams from "Pressas," Kaunas, Panevėžys, LRT, Delfi.lt, Futbolo.tv, the team of public relations employees "Propaganda," "Freelancers," and students from the Vilnius University Institute of Journalism. The winners of the Lithuanian Journalists' Football Championship earned the right to play in the traditional international journalists' football tournament. The anniversary tenth edition of the tournament will take place at the end of May in Druskininkai, organized by the Sports Journalists' Club of the Lithuanian Journalists' Union.
