The Russian national football team lost 1:2 to the Qatar national team in a friendly match on Thursday. The Russians scored first, but couldn't hold on to the lead.
In the 5th minute, Aleksandr Samedov converted a penalty kick. In the 29th minute, another penalty kick was awarded to Russia, but Ibrahim Abdulmajedas failed to score.
However, the match continued strangely - in the 35th minute, the referee awarded another penalty kick to the Russian team.
This time Boualem Khoukhi stepped up to take the penalty kick and was successful.
The winning goal was scored in the 72nd minute by Karim Boudiaf.
The Russian national team continues to struggle to get out of the slump that began in the poorly performed European football championship.
Russia is ranked 53rd in the FIFA rankings, while Qatar is ranked 91st.
