“TOPsport A lygos” first round ended on a high note with FA “Šiauliai” showing character. In the 9th round, Mindaugas Čepo's team defeated Alytus DFK “Dainava” with a score of 1:0 (0:0).

In the first half, the hosts only stood out with a dangerous attempt by Simonas Urbys, while the Dainava players attacked more aggressively. During counter-attacks, Lukas Paukštė repelled Artiom Baftalovki's shot, Rokas Rasimavičius missed through the goal, and Aaronas Olugbogi failed to score in a great opportunity.

After the break, the ball was controlled more by the Šiauliai team, but the threatening moments did not come immediately. “Dainava” had a lot to defend against in the last half-hour of the match, with goalkeeper Volodymyr Krynskis excellently deflecting all of Donatas Kazlauskas's attempts. Artūras Ikauniekas also missed the target.

In the first minute of added time, the players who appeared after a substitution shone in the hosts' ranks. Augustinas Klimavičius rejected the ball to Deividas Dovydačius and directed it into the corner of the goal in one touch.

For the 21-year-old attacking player, this was his second goal in three seasons in the “TOPsport A lyga”.

After the victory, FA “Šiauliai” climbed to 7th place with 10 points, while in the Alytus region - 12 points and 5th place.
