The Six-Goal Thriller in the King's Cup Ended with Atletico Withdrawing from the Tournament.

On Wednesday, the return leg of the King's Cup quarterfinals was played.

A true evening delight took place at the "Wanda Metropolitano" stadium. Madrid's "Atletico" and "Girona" created a real goal show, which was unfavorable for the team coached by Diego Simeone.

The first advantage was gained by the "Atletico" players - Nikola Kalinic scored in the 12th minute to put the hosts ahead. However, "Girona" found holes in the "rojiblancos" defense and equalized in the 37th minute.

In the second half, "Atletico" created more opportunities, but they conceded a second goal - Christian Stuani scored in the 59th minute to put the visitors ahead and send "Atletico" into a difficult situation.

In order to advance, the "Atletico" team needed to score two more goals. D. Simeone's players did not give up, and in that situation - Angel Correa brought the hosts back into a good position in the 66th minute after the equalizer goal.

"Atletico" continued to press their opponents after the equalizer goal and in the 84th minute, they seized the opportunity - Antoine Griezmann scored a great goal from a sharp angle, which seemed to have saved "Atletico" from being eliminated from the tournament.

However, "Girona" had other plans - just four minutes after the substitution, Seydou Doumbia redirected the ball into the hosts' goal and leveled the score again, which favored the visitors from Girona.

"Girona" held onto their advantage and sensationally advanced to the quarterfinals. The latter progress to the next stage was due to the away goal rule.
