The Slovak U-21 coach accused Germans and Italians of dirty play

Slovakia U-21 national team coach Pavel Hapal did not hold back his anger after his players failed to qualify for the European Championship.

Having gathered 6 points in three Group A matches, his players had excellent chances to reach the semi-finals of the tournament, but the worst scenario happened - in Group C, Italians defeated Germans 1-0 and those two teams secured their spots in the decisive stage.

Disgusted by the passive play of indirect rivals in attack, the Slovak coach said:

"What Italians did to Germans today is a disgrace to football. We are all very disappointed. We respect the teams who will play in the semi-finals - England and Spain, but, at least for me, the tournament is already over and I won't be surprised by the decisive matches," Hapal said.

Germany's representative Horst Hrubesch tried to cool down the emotions: "It is completely normal that the game was played very cautiously at the end of the match."
