The committee of the Spanish Football Federation imposed a symbolic fine on the "Barcelona" club for disregarding the rules. This summer, Madrid's "Atletico" handed over "Barcelona" to higher authorities to investigate Antoine Griezmann's move to the capital club. "Atletico" claimed that "Barcelona" reached an agreement with the player earlier this year when Griezmann was still playing for "Atletico" and the buyout clause was 200 million euros. However, "Barcelona", despite the pre-existing agreement, waited until July 1st when the buyout clause was reduced to 120 million euros. It was precisely because of these actions by the Catalan club that Atletico turned to the Spanish Football Federation, demanding that "Barca" pay the full 200 million euros. Atletico consistently stated that they had written evidence of the agreement between "Barcelona" and Griezmann in March. Despite the evidence, the Spanish Football Federation did not punish "Barcelona" harshly - they were fined a rather amusing 300 euros.
