On Saturday, four UEFA Nations League A division matches were played. A dramatic battle took place in Switzerland, where the hosts narrowly let victory slip from their hands in a match against Spain, ending in a 1:1 draw. Switzerland took the lead in the 26th minute after a precise strike from Remo Freuler. In the 57th minute, Spain had a great opportunity to equalize the score, but Sergio Ramos failed to convert a penalty kick. In the 79th minute, Swiss defender Nico Elvedi committed a foul in the penalty area and received a second yellow card, giving Spain a chance to take a second penalty kick. However, S. Ramos missed the second penalty kick as well, and the ball was easily caught by the Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Spain did not give up and managed to level the score in the 89th minute through Gerard Moreno. France secured their place in the A division final four by defeating Portugal with a minimal score of 1:0, with N'Golo Kante scoring the only goal in the 54th minute.
