Ambitious Vilnius continues to strengthen with Lithuanian players playing abroad - today the capital's club signed a one-year contract with Algis Jankauskas. The 23-year-old former "Žalgiris" defender was loaned out from the Perm team for a year.
"I am happy to have signed a contract with Vilnius "Vėtra", which aims for the highest goals in the Lithuanian championship. I hope that the team will perform successfully in European tournaments. I believe that playing in Lithuania, I will also attract the attention of the Lithuanian national team coaches," said Jankauskas, who has been playing in the Russian championship for one and a half years and has not secured a place in his team.
According to the "Vėtra" website, the contract signed with Perm's "Amkar" includes a leasing agreement for A. Jankauskas, which gives "Vėtra" the first option to buy out the Lithuanian's contract until the end of this year, which is still valid for two more years with the Russian club.
